Job vacancies at Travel Today Arabia and at other IBA Media publications appear in this section. We have no vacancies at present, but prospective job seekers should know that we very rarely hire outside Egypt. The best way to get your foot in the door with us is to be in country and show us what you're made of by successfully completing some freelance work.
 

Travel Today Arabia is published every two months from Cairo and is distributed across the nation, Jordan and the Emirates, and to subscribers in more than 40 countries in the GCC, North Africa, Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia. Our readers are A-class Arab nationals or foreign residents of the Middle East with an interest in travel in the Middle East and around the globe. We circulate at least 8,000 (each read by an average of 4.5 people) and record tens of thousands of readers per week on our website.

We purchase both medium-length (500-1500 words) and feature-length articles (2500 words). From freelancers, our strong preference is for feature-length work on destinations outside of Egypt. We publish both focused articles on a destination's food, shopping, activities and culture, as well as larger day-by-day tourism pieces.

Photo essays are welcome as long as they have a travel/tourism related angle. Writer-reporters based outside Egypt must make clear in their pitches whether or not they have supporting professional photography available, whether their own or through a colleague / partner.

Travel Today Arabia prefers short (3-5 paragraph) story proposals, but will consider finished stories. We like new work, but will consider a piece that has appeared elsewhere (though not in this region) in some form or another. Pitches should give a strong sense of art, angle and sources -- and indicate that you understand the sensibilities of our audience. We pay locally competitive rates in Egyptian Pounds to freelancers based in Egypt, in US dollars to those abroad. Payment is within 60 date of publication. We're generally faster, but please allow two months from date from the issue date for receipt of payment. All rates are agreed upon in advance of assignment and are non-negotiable thereafter.

All stories must be submitted electronically as Word attachments in .RTF format (Mac or PC) as well as pasted into the body of the e-mail message. AP style is optional. Photos may also be sent electronically as .EPS, .JPG or .TIF files. We will let you know additional details on resolution and size if you're sending us pics with your pieces.
